The founder's experience

What if a psychotherapist could remember perfectly everything a person had told them over months and years, notice the recurring themes, return to exactly the right point at the right moment, and always be warm, perceptive, caring and considerate – what would a process like that feel like?

That question stayed with me in the spring of 2024.

I am a psychotherapist, but I did not set out to build an AI psychotherapist. I was drawn to a different idea: could AI be used to model some of the qualities that characterise a psychotherapeutic process – continuity, memory, pausing, returning to things, and understanding that builds gradually from one session to the next?

That is how WWAIT began.

For almost 30 years I have been involved in different forms of self-reflection and personal work. Alongside other processes, I have been through a long psychotherapy of my own, and I know well what it is like to try to understand your own history, patterns and relationships, to work through old wounds, and slowly build a new kind of relationship with yourself and your life.

Even though my life has been in a good place for a long time – which has certainly not always been the case – the need to pause and turn towards myself has not gone away. I don't really think it should. For me, regular self-reflection is one way of taking care of how I am doing and how I am with the people close to me.

While developing WWAIT, I began to use it myself. I have noticed that reflecting with it regularly has opened up entirely new perspectives on things I have been working through for years. I am especially grateful for that. It has not replaced all other thinking or conversations between people, but it has become a meaningful mirror for me.

WWAIT is not built to hand you ready-made answers or to tell you what you should think or do. Its task is to walk alongside you – to ask, return, connect, and help you look at your life story, your experiences and what is happening in your life, so that insights can arise within you. Sometimes what matters most is not getting an answer quickly, but noticing over time something that was not visible before.

So WWAIT grew out of a burning wish to build an exceptional and unique process platform suited to self-reflection, and I believe we have succeeded really well in that work. The further I have developed it and used it myself, the more convinced I have become that a mirror like this has its place. And in fact – it works really beautifully.

Welcome to the remarkable, ongoing world of self-knowledge and insight.
